Good things come to those who wait – an idiom that applies to nobody better than to M-FX aka
Maximilian Meindl. It took fifteen years until the release of the first official production. Mr. Meindl
was and has always been on the go exceedingly. He co-founded and runs the label Houztekk
Records, which as well serves as a booking-agency, works as a media designer, DJ and by the way
became a family father recently. Despite an enormous workload he managed to release “The
Itchypitch EP”. The time of waiting has been worth it. Right on his first record M-FX is having a
blast. A little crankiness, a few hacked beats. Neo Detroit embraces the 90s. Deep technoid tunes
blend well with warm melodies sneaking up from the background. All very close to the roots yet so
new. Compared to the original, Dave Tarridas remix moves a little deeper to the ear, again and
again combines in technoid straightness, turns and morphs under the performance of the
synthesizer. Now and then Dubstep similar features can be found in the remix. „The Itchypitch“ has
been visualized by the visualist “Tofa” from Tresor Berlin. The video, no pixelled graphic as one
would assume from a Berlin VJ, is realized cinematically. The simplification of the video
accompanies with the sound without smothering it, narrows neither the music nor ones own
fantasy, leaves room to see and hear. A successful symbiosis of sound and illustration.
